Blessings To ALL:
For the next 7-Wednesdays during the 40 days of Lent (A time of preparation for the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ) we will be sharing our personal reflections on Jesus last words from the cross. Many churches on Good Friday gather and invite 7 preachers to preach on these words and on this Good Friday, April 2, 2010, I will be preaching one of them at Trinity Baptist Church of The Bronx, New York. All are invited to join me and more details will be provided soon.
It is interesting to me that through the years it is stated as “The Seven Last Words of Jesus,” when they are actually his seven last statements / messages for us. Whenever anyone is dying family members and friends gather around their loved one to listen attentively to their last words and or last wish. Jesus had the attention of all present and during this 2010 Lenten season I would like us to listen, ponder and reflect by sharing with me your thoughts. The seven words that will be discussed are: 1- Forgiveness, 2-Salvation, 3-Community, 4-Suffering, 5-Limited, 6-Completed and 7-Trust. After which we will explore the Biblical events before His crucifixion during Holy Week/Passion Week (April 5, 6, 7, 8).
