4/14-15/06 30 Hour Famine
 "30 Hour Famine" - Youth Ministry - Day 1

The Youth Ministry will be participating in a hunger relief effort called "30 Hour Famine". It's part of a national effort coordinated by World Vision. The event encourages faith growth by raising awareness of the suffering of others and by forcing youth to trust more in their relationship with God to strengthen them to meet the challenges of the fasting (for 30 hours). There will be an estimated 10 or so youth involved in fasting, raising funds, and service projects.

Friday Night: We are going to get started with a pizza with salad dinner at 6pm. This will be the last meal the youth eat before Sunday morning. During the dinner we will do a reinactment of the Last Supper (including a foot washing) and discuss the Seven Last Words (phrases) of Christ. We will also be doing games/activities which will be organized by the Youth.  The plan is to have everyone settled done by 12am so we can get a good night's sleep in preparation for the service projects the next day.

Saturday (day): We have a few service projects planned for Saturday.

Young Ladies: The ladies will be making coloring books for children.  They will be participating in the Women's Scrap-Booking event in order to produce the coloring books. The coloring books will be given to Morton Hospital's children's ward/area.

Young Men: The fellas will be heading to the residence of one of our Deacons homes to work on the yard. Details still need to be configured, however, we will most likely be there all morning. In the afternoon we are going to work on someone's vehicle that needs a tire change and oil change. Not sure what else we will be doing that afternoon, but we might be coming back to the church to work on landscaping or something.

Saturday (night): Viewing of “The Passion of the Christ”
